“Next” is your working stock for today. Three sources fill the list, and they appear as three groups:

• Due: tasks whose scheduled completion date is today or earlier
• Scheduled: tasks you moved into this list yourself
• Next task: the topmost open task of each sequential project

Tasks with a deadline also appear in good time before it, even without a scheduled completion date. You set how many days in advance (default three) under Settings → Planning → “Show deadline from”. Tasks from “Waiting for” appear as soon as their date is reached. “Someday” never has a date and therefore never appears. With Pro, calendar events are added.

The list respects the active area and project focus.
